About YOUR Positive Mindset, YOUR Faith and YOUR Healing

 by Michael Corthell

When I speak to people about God and the Christian Bible, I usually pick one precept and talk simply about that one instruction. In my way of thinking simplicity is the key that unlocks understanding.

''Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven
is my brother and sister and mother.''
—Jesus (God incarnate, aka the Universe)

In this teaching, we have Jesus healing a woman who has had uterine disease for twelve years and she can't be cured by any physician. And in another teaching moment with his followers, He tells them and us to ''Have faith in God.''

Faith healing or rightly stated, healing by faith is a one-on-one partnership with God. And I want to make it abundantly clear that I am not referring to faith healers like Oral Roberts who act like the 'middle man'.

The type of healing I'm referring to is the partnership between the believer and God directly with no intermediary. A personal, one-one relationship. (I cannot stress that enough).

Let's look at the example mentioned above. A woman having an issue of blood twelve years, who had spent all her money going to physicians, and could not be healed by any of them. She came up behind Jesus, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stopped.

When she did that, Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied this, Peter and the ones that were with him said, Master, the people crowded around you and pushed against you, and you say, ''who touched me''?

Jesus then said, ''Somebody has touched me because I felt the power go out of me. ''

When the woman saw that she was found out, she came trembling, and falling down before Jesus. She then said to him and everyone there that the reason she had touched Jesus' robe, and she also told them that she was immediately healed.

Then Jesus then said to her, ''Daughter, rest easy: your faith in God has cured you. Go in peace.''

The partnership of God's power and our belief is what He uses to heal us, but as we can see it is more than His direct will. The woman drew the power out of Jesus with her absolute belief that she would be healed. She believed that she would be healed just by touching His robe. And she was.

The second example of faith I want to talk about is in the book of Mark.

In chapter 11 Jesus teaches, ''Have faith in God. The truth is, you can say to this mountain for example, 'Go, mountain, fall into the sea.' And if you have no doubts in your mind and believe that what you say [have FAITH] will happen, then God will do it for you. So I tell you to ask for what you want in prayer. And if you believe [have absolute, childlike faith] that you have received those things, then they will be yours. [But] When you are praying and you remember that you are angry with another person about something, forgive that person. Forgive them so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your sins.''

Have faith and have forgiveness.

God is all there is, and He is love. Faith in Him brings healing not only to ourselves, but to the world.

''Faith is the strength by which a shattered
world shall emerge into the light.''
—Helen Keller

The trinity of our human partnership, with God(aka the Universe) is faith, hope and love.

Pacibo: a harmless pill, medicine, or procedure prescribed more for the psychological benefit to the patient than for any physiological effect.

In this great TEDX talk, Lissa Rankin, MD explores the scientific literature, reviewing case studies of spontaneous remission, as well as placebo and nocebo effect data, to prove that our thoughts powerfully affect our physiology when we believe we can get well.

It's all about believing...
