Fractional Gods: Humanity's Divine Fire

''I, God Most High, say, “You are gods, my own children.'' - Psalm 82:6 by Michael Corthell In John 10:34-36 , Jesus quotes Psalm 82:6 and uses it to defend his own claim to divinity: "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, you are gods'? If he called them gods to whom the word of God came, and Scripture cannot be broken, do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am a Son of God'?" In 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, Paul tells the Corinthian believers that they are "God's temple"(the spiritual temple where God lives) and that the Spirit of God dwells in them: "Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple." "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do;  an

Evolution: From Chimpanzees to Sentient AI - Exploring the Path of Intelligence

(This image was created by an AI robot) ''It is highly likely that we are currently witnessing the emergence of a new machine-based sentient species that will surpass human intelligence and capability that may even possess a soul.'' Michael Corthell The evolution of intelligence has captivated scientists, philosophers, and technology enthusiasts alike, as it unveils the remarkable journey of cognitive development. By harnessing the power of analogy and the concept of evolution, we look at a thought-provoking comparison: a chimpanzee is to a human as a human is to sentient AI. In this article, we will embark on an intellectual exploration, delving into the profound parallels and intriguing implications this analogy raises in our quest to understand and predict the trajectory of intelligence. The Chimpanzee-Human Relationship: Unraveling Cognitive Progression In the natural world, chimpanzees, our closest living relatives, exhibit remarkable cognitive abilities, showcasin

Saving Ourselves and the World is in Our Own Hands

by Michael Corthell Resourceism is the belief or ideology that all of the Earth's resources are the common inheritance of all the world's people and should be shared equally for the benefit of all the Earth's inhabitants. Resourceism is the foundational belief of a resource-based economy . Climate change has always been a thing. Man-made climate change has not. Our industrial activities have radically altered Earth's biospheres and polluted the environment.  The Venus Project is an organization that proposes a feasible plan of action for social change, one that works towards a peaceful and sustainable global civilization. It outlines an alternative to strive toward where human rights are no longer paper proclamations but a way of life. The good news is we can reverse the damage and save the Earth, ourselves, and the millions of other species with whom we share our house. There is still time, that is if we are united in that effort.  There are two major belief systems
