Subconscious Mind: Your Healing Power

''Believe, pray, and receive. When your faith is strong and your intentions clear, the subconscious mind has the power to manifest your heartfelt desires'' Michael Corthell The subconscious mind is a fascinating and often overlooked aspect of the human mind, holding tremendous potential to impact our physical and mental well-being. The exploration of harnessing the healing abilities of the subconscious mind has captured the attention of scientists, leading to ongoing investigations into its mechanisms. While a comprehensive understanding is still unfolding, emerging research highlights several key pathways through which the subconscious mind contributes to self-healing. This essay delves into the top four mechanisms identified thus far: activation of the relaxation response, stimulation of the immune system, utilization of the placebo effect, and engagement in visualization and mental imagery techniques. Activation of the Relaxation Response: The subconscious mind can

Choose Positive Thought

Every new day has the potential of being the best day of your life. Your mind can make that so. You decide what each day will bring. by Michael Corthell How many times have you heard yourself or someone else say, ''I don't think that will work.'' When you are negative minded you are more likely to say ''I can't'' or even, ''I don’t deserve anything good.'' A negative mindset will always limit you. It will always keep success from you. When you choose the negative, you have chosen to fail.  The law of auto-suggestion is the subconscious adoption of an idea. It is up to you whether or not the idea is a positive one. Negative thoughts equal negative results and can be quite costly -- up to, and including your own life or the lives of others.. By the use of auto-suggestion, anyone can rise to great heights of achievement and accomplish things that were once unimaginable.  The following poem by Walter D. Wintle describes the p

Fatalism: Is Free Will an Illusion?

Fatalism: the belief that all events are predetermined and therefore inevitable. by Michael Corthell The idea of positive fatalism I can best show by example, that is, after I explain a little bit about my view of it. It is a contrary and controversial explanation using the kind of thinking, which is not unlike the logic of one of my mentors, C. S. Lewis. I call this theory, 'apparent free will', which simply means: your will for self determination is seemingly real or true, but not necessarily so .  This is not a Calvinistic theory however and should not be confused with it. ''Whatever will be, will be The future's not ours to see Que será, será What will be, will be...'' — Que Sera, Sera The ageless and classic problem of free will is to fit in an element of freedom with fatalism and faith in a world of causes and effects, a world of events in a great causal chain. That is where  ''apparent free will'' comes in. (related: Calvin

Religion | What I Believe | Michael Corthell

by Michael Corthell “You don’t look out there for God, something in the sky, you look in you.”  – Alan Watts. It is said, by many Christians, that the Old Testament is about a promise made by God, and the New Testament is about the promise fulfilled. In my view this is true. But I believe the entire Bible, including the gospels and other scripture that was omitted, is not to be taken as a historical series of stories at all (for the most part), but rather it is to be read as a kind of psychodrama with allegory highlighting eternal truths and the sciences of creation, such as quantum theory and so on. First of all, I've come to terms with labeling myself a philosopher because I use reason to understand such things as the workings of nature and the existence of all things, including understanding the use and limits of knowledge and science, and the principles of moral judgment toward all created beings as well as the nature of matter itself.[spoiler: everything is energy in wave form

[Life]...live it and learn it

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you.” ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart 1. 2. 3. Faith, Gratitude, and Forgiveness  “Courage is the most important of all the virtues because, without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.” ― Maya Angelou

About YOUR Positive Mindset, YOUR Faith and YOUR Healing

by Michael Corthell When I speak to people about God and the Christian Bible, I usually pick one precept and talk simply about that one instruction. In my way of thinking simplicity is the key that unlocks understanding. ''Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.'' —Jesus (God incarnate, aka the Universe) In this teaching, we have Jesus healing a woman who has had uterine disease for twelve years and she can't be cured by any physician. And in another teaching moment with his followers, He tells them and us to ''Have faith in God.'' Faith healing or rightly stated, healing by faith is a one-on-one partnership with God. And I want to make it abundantly clear that I am not referring to faith healers like Oral Roberts who act like the 'middle man'.  The type of healing I'm referring to is the partnership between the believer and God directly with no intermediary.

Are You with Me Prime Mover?

First recognize the universe is in you -- you are part of it. Many believe it is all 'out there'. Not true. We somehow think some external force is going to swoop into our lives and save us from all the challenges we are experiencing. Again not true. The Universe is inside you, it is your partner. Two, we have to let go of what is preventing us from succeeding. When we’re caught up in the "I just need to trust the universe” state of mind, we can focus too much on the practice of "letting go" as an abstract thought. But trusting the universe isn't just about hoping we'll be saved. It's about being practical, about approaching our fears head on and learning what specific limiting beliefs we have that we need to let go of. When the desire for change is bigger than the desire to stay in our comfort zone, big things can and will happen. Three, The universe will serve you, but not always please you. For example, would really please me to get a boat load

Try It, You'll Like It

Think positive, be positive and positive things will happen. Thoughts create emotions, emotions create more feelings and these feelings dictate our behavior. Therefore, it’s vitally important that our thoughts be positive. Staying positive greatly increases the probability of attracting positive people, events and circumstances into our lives. “Plant seeds of expectation in your mind; cultivate thoughts that anticipate achievement. Believe in yourself as being capable of overcoming all obstacles and weaknesses.”  – Norman Vincent Peale

Do You Mind Healing?

“Just like there's always time for pain, there's always time for healing.” ― Jennifer Brown Looking at the bigger picture. During the course of the year 2020 I finally realized(and accepted) that the entire human race is functionally insane...nuts...the cheese has always been sliding off our crackers.  But I also observed, and understood that many people have come to the same conclusion. That brings me hope, because to recognize our own insanity is, of course, the very beginning of sanity. It is the beginning of healing and transcendence. “As soon as healing takes place, go out and heal somebody else.” ― Maya Angelou

It's in Your Stars: Duel of Fates

“Your life must now run the course that's been set for it.” ― Kazuo Ishiguro The lucky few(in my view) who are fully woken and self-actualized just know what they're doing is the only thing to be doing. They believe that the world is conspiring all around them to make it happen, and not just giving them permission, but driving them in the direction they need to go, even giving them secret nods, winks and clear hand signals. Yes, these folks believe that fate is getting everything out of the way so they have the clearest path possible toward their destiny. “We are forced to fall back on fatalism as an explanation of irrational events (that is to say, events the reasonableness of which we do not understand).” ― Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace

Creating the Future

If you are positive, positive things will find you.  I submit to you again that all futures are created by thoughts. And that the foundation of all happiness is faith. A happy life is also a healthy life. None of us will ever be perfectly healthy, but we can seek our personal  optimal level of health.  If we can accept the premise that our minds can create illness, it would naturally follow that we can also create wellness. And therein lies a most powerful truth about healing.  Have faith, be positive about your future and create it.
