Seeking God's Will: The Law of Attraction, Law of Assumption, and Manifesting in Christian Faith

''Open Hand in Prayer''
"Manifesting our desires is anchored in the words of Jesus: 'Believe in prayer that you have already received, and it shall be yours.' Faith and belief pave the path to manifestation."

In the realm of personal development and spirituality, various concepts have emerged, such as the law of attraction and manifestation. While these ideas have gained popularity, it is important for Christians to approach them through the lens of their faith. This article explores the connection between the law of attraction, the law of assumption, manifesting desires, and seeking God's will within the context of Christian beliefs.

Understanding the Law of Attraction The law of attraction, a concept popularized by New Thought teachings, suggests that like attracts like. It emphasizes the power of thoughts, beliefs, and intentions in shaping one's reality. While this idea aligns with the Christian teaching of faith, it is crucial to evaluate our desires in light of God's will and His principles of love and righteousness.

One of the foundational principles of the law of attraction is that our thoughts and beliefs create our experiences. This concept resonates with the biblical teaching of faith. Jesus often emphasized the importance of faith and how it could move mountains (Matthew 17:20). However, as Christians, we must ensure that our desires and intentions align with God's will, recognizing that His plans for us are ultimately for our good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Aligning with God's Will As Christians, we seek to align our desires with God's will rather than solely focusing on personal gain. The Bible teaches us to pray, trust, and surrender to God's guidance. By seeking His will, we invite God to shape our desires and bring forth blessings that align with His purposes.

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, encourages believers to have a mindset of humility and to prioritize God's will over personal ambitions: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others" (Philippians 2:3-4).

The Law of Assumption The law of assumption, similar to the law of attraction, emphasizes the power of belief in manifesting desires. In the Christian faith, our beliefs are grounded in the truth of God's Word. By adopting an attitude of faith and assuming that our desires are in accordance with God's will, we open ourselves to His provision and guidance.

Neville Goddard, a New Thought teacher, highlights the importance of assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled. While his teachings may differ from traditional Christian doctrines, the principle of faith and belief remains significant. When our assumptions are rooted in God's truth and aligned with His will, we cultivate a mindset that allows us to receive what He has in store for us.

Prayer, Faith, and Contentment In Christian teachings, prayer and faith play vital roles in manifesting desires. However, it is essential to approach prayer with humility and a willingness to submit to God's wisdom. Our faith should be rooted in God's character and promises, rather than solely fixating on specific outcomes. Additionally, finding contentment in God's presence and aligning our desires with His purpose brings true fulfillment.

The Bible encourages believers to approach God with their desires through prayer, as stated in Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

True contentment comes from seeking God Himself rather than being solely focused on the manifestation of desires. The Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 4:11-13, "Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance, and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

This passage reminds us that our contentment and strength come from our relationship with Christ, rather than the fulfillment of our desires. It is through this relationship that we can trust in God's wisdom and align our desires with His will.

Conclusion:

As Christians, we can navigate the concepts of the law of attraction, law of assumption, and manifesting desires by integrating them with our faith. While recognizing the power of thoughts, beliefs, and intentions, we must prioritize seeking God's will, aligning our desires with His purposes, and cultivating a humble and trusting relationship with Him. Through prayer, faith, and contentment, we can find true fulfillment and experience the abundant life that God desires for us.

Incorporating elements of the law of attraction and manifestation within a Christian framework requires discernment and alignment with biblical principles. It is crucial to evaluate our desires in light of God's will, seeking His guidance and surrendering to His wisdom. As we deepen our faith, trust in His provision, and align ourselves with His purposes, we can experience a transformative journey of manifesting desires that are in harmony with His plan for our lives.
