From Mind to Matter: Unleashing the Creative Power of Thought

"Through focused intention and positive beliefs, thoughts become the seeds of our reality, intertwining with actions to manifest the world we observe and experience." Michael Corthell The human mind possesses an extraordinary ability to shape the world around us through the power of thought. My assertive belief is that everything you observe in your outer world was manifested by thought , which highlights the profound connection between our thoughts and the reality we experience. While this concept has been explored by various philosophies and belief systems throughout history, modern research, and anecdotal evidence continue to shed light on the intriguing notion that thoughts can indeed become reality. This essay will dive into the mechanisms behind this phenomenon, examining the role of thoughts in shaping our experiences, influencing our actions, and ultimately manifesting the world we perceive. The Mind-Reality Nexus: The underlying principle of thoughts becoming reality

Positive Psychology for a Positive Life

Focus on, and grow the good by watering the positive seeds in your personality. by Michael Corthell Previously I discussed pleasure-seeking and the minimizing of pain and suffering. In this section, I'm going to address accentuating the positive or 'selective watering' of the good 'seeds' within us all. For every insult I ignore, I grow three times in maturity. Every time I feel discouraged, I encourage myself three times. No matter what happens, I will continue to live and grow. The chief 'illness' that afflicts most in western civilization is that we don't know how to handle the suffering inside us, and we try to cover that suffering up with all kinds of 'things'. There are all sorts of new consumer goods to fill what has been called the 'God Hole'—that hole is an emptiness inside our souls that only God, our creator, can fill. The problem though, is that we, as a people, often ignore this hole or we attempt to fi

Almost Everything You Think You Know About Addiction is WRONG

''People dealing with an addiction may lie to cover up addictive behavior for a variety of reasons, so don't take it personally. It's part of the disease of substance abuse or any addictive behavior including gambling. People who are addicted are slaves to their addiction and a slave must obey his or her 'master'.'' Michael Corthell Yes, as it turns out, almost everything we know about addiction to substances is wrong, in fact most of what we do for, and to addicts is the exact OPPOSITE of what we should be doing.  "Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs" is a non-fiction book written by Johann Hari. It was first published in 2015 and explores the history and impact of the global war on drugs. The book challenges the conventional wisdom and policies surrounding drug addiction and offers a fresh perspective on the issue. Johann Hari delves into the origins of the war on drugs and examines its failures and unintended cons

" Pride Month unites us in celebrating diversity, advocating for equal rights, and embracing the power of inclusion. Together, we can create a world where love, acceptance, and respect flourish for all." Michael Corthell Pride Month, celebrated globally in June, is a vibrant and empowering commemoration of the LGBTQ+ community's resilience, achievements, and the ongoing struggle for equal rights. This essay explores the historical significance of Pride Month, its relationship to the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, and its alignment with the principles of Oneness and the Golden Rule. The History of Pride Month: Pride Month traces its roots back to the Stonewall Uprising in June 1969 , when LGBTQ+ individuals in New York City protested against discriminatory police raids and harassment. This watershed moment sparked a wave of activism and ignited a movement that aimed to secure equal rights and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community. Pride Month emerged as an a

The Law of Cause and Effect Clearly Explained

''All actions carry consequences, whether they are immediate or delayed, expected or unexpected. From the smallest choices to the most significant decisions, each action sets off a chain of events that can impact ourselves, others, and the world around us.'' Michael Corthell Cause and effect is the relationship between two things when one thing makes something else happen. For example, if we eat too much food and do not exercise, we gain weight. Eating food without exercising is the “cause;” weight gain is the “effect.” There may be multiple causes and multiple effects. Some also call it Karma. Karma is a Sanskrit word meaning 'act', 'action', or 'word'.  The law of karma teaches us that all of our thoughts, words, and actions begin a chain of cause and effect  and that we will personally experience the effects of everything we cause.  We may not experience the effect (the returning karma) right away, but you can count on it happening.
